Advanced Extravehicular Activity

Advanced Extravehicular Activity (AEVA) provides basic concepts and technologies to enable humans to conduct complex work outside the pressurized volume of a spacecraft. It includes technologies for the space suit pressure garment, portable life support system, information systems, and environmental protection. Research and technology efforts in this area focus on developing an optimized prebreathe capability, regenerable life support, minimized consumables, significant mass reduction for the life support system and pressure garment, adequate pressure garment mobility, increase information availability, and planetary surface dust and space radiation protection.
